Contemporary tendencies in creation and conversion of the town squares

Article describes some of current trends in the town squares design. It is a following to the principles of comprehensive planning and new urbanism from urban planning point of view. In social sense it is a special attention to character of a place, time and especially society because the created space first of all must be habitable. From design positions it is a polysyllabic morphology in a shaping of the area, formation or a reconstruction of lost spirit of a place, leveling of borders between open and interior spaces, and creation еру comfortable and attractive «clever square» with hi-tech infrastructure.
